This Past Weekend

After a busy weekend that started with a Friday midnight screening of John Carpenter's 'The Thing' and also included; a dinner party, dinner at Flour + Water, and seeing The 39 Steps at the Curran theater (a play based on the 1935 Alfred Hitchcock film), I am sad to say that it's Monday.

Blogging is going to have to take a back-burner (again) to moving (in with Christopher), the holidays (two weeks in Seattle), and Hitchmas... Aka Christopher and I seeing 3 Alfred Hitchcock double-features at the Castro theatre this upcoming week. How amazing!

So, happy holidays & goodbye 2009.

David Bowie Book | Marc Spitz

Journalist and fan, Marc Spitz, has written David Bowie book, a new biography on David Bowie.

"Bowie takes an in-depth look at the culture of postwar England in which Bowie grew up, the mod and hippie scenes of swinging London in the sixties, the sex- and drug-fueled glitter scene of the early seventies when Bowie’s alter-ego Ziggy Stardust was born, his rise to global stardom in the eighties and his subsequent status as an elder statesman of alternative culture..." -Marc Spitz

I may just have to get my hands on a copy of this.

56 Degrees and Raining

I have been asking for rain since I first felt it was fall (September), but San Francisco's Indian summer thought otherwise... However, finally today it has decided to rain for me. Which, of course, means lots of tea and movie watching today.

Aubrey & New York - The New York Stock Exchange

We're a bit behind on posting photos, but Aubrey made it down to the New York Stock Exchange to take a photo for me. She is getting through that long list of places I want her to visit while she's in the city.

Wednesday

Sickness overtook the household(s) this past weekend, so after four days of lounging around, cooking, and catching up on all our unwatched movies and television shows, it's back to the real world.

Being as lazy as we were we did get the chance to cook a lot; stuffed shells for (a hindered) "Frank Capra night", split pea soup, rice and beans, and homemade applesauce. Yum!
